Vivaldi free download1/29/2024 ![]() Workspaces Rules organizes your tabs automatically. Now, you can search through your synced open tabs coming from any device. Previously, your synced tabs could only be accessed from the cloud icon on the Tab Bar. Synced Tabs are available from the Address Field and Windows Panel. In addition to full browsing history, Vivaldi Sync keeps your Bookmarks, saved passwords, open tabs, Reading List, Notes, and some settings such as search engines in sync - no matter which device you are using. Vivaldi syncs full browser history, encrypted. However, it was no help when you wanted to rediscover anything you had stumbled upon on another device earlier in the day. The old system was useful for rediscovering webpages and searches you had typed in. Vivaldi Sync used to synchronize your typed history, the searches, and the addresses you typed into the Address Field. Never lose that article you read on the bus or that recipe you discovered on your tablet again! New in this release, Vivaldi Sync makes your complete browsing history - the list of web pages you’ve visited - available across all your devices. Vivaldi now syncs your full browser history (encrypted, of course!). The Sessions Panel is a new side panel for managing your Sessions. A Session can contain tabs from a single window, all your windows, and optionally your Workspaces too. Sessions are a way for you to store your open tabs and start over with a clean slate - freeing up memory and resources on your computer. What's new in v6.5 (see changelog for full list): Vivaldi's customisability and flexibility is joined by genuinely innovative features such as tab stacks and web panels to make it a genuine alternative browser for the power user. Select whatever you want directly from the list, or press the listed hotkey (Ctrl+H for Notes). Press Ctrl+Q at any point and a menu appears listing all your open tabs and most important commands. There's also very good keyboard support via "Quick Commands". This works much like a group of buttons on the Windows taskbar: hover your mouse over the tab, thumbnails appear for each of the sites it represents, and you simply click the one you need. Dragging one tab over another creates a Tab Stack, where a single tab represents multiple sites. ![]() Open too many sites and Vivaldi offers a new way to restore order. You can organise them by interest, context, add folders, and more. The Speed Dials page doesn't just display static thumbnails of your favourite sites. There are Downloads, Bookmarks and Contacts panels, too, as well as one for "Vivaldi Mail" (although a message explains this "is not ready") and a web panel option, which lets you pin frequently accessed web sites, feeds and other resources for easy access alongside the main browser window. A Notes section allows you to take text notes and screen shots, and add tags to any site. Browser tabs at the top of the page, address and search bar below, a menu button top-left points to a few useful options (File > Import Data can import your bookmarks, passwords, history, and search engines from IE, Opera and Firefox).Ī tabbed panel on the left gives access to various extras. The end result is streamlined and straightforward to use. The user interface is built with JavaScript and React ("with the help of Node.js, Browserify and a long list of NPM modules", apparently). It's Chromium-based, which ensures decent speeds, even for a Technical Preview. Vivaldi is a new browser from a team lead by Jon S. ![]()
